One of the newest members of the proud Falcon family of business jets produced by France’s Dassault Aviation, the Falcon 7X is a tremendous improvement over its predecessors. It also outperforms many contenders in the heavy business jet category and even handles more like a modern jet fighter because of its fly-by-wire flight controls that include a side-mounted control stick instead of the more typical two-handed yoke or “wheel.”
The Falcon 7X is fast for a heavy business jet—or any business jet, for that matter. Three Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307A turbofans give the 7X a high cruising speed of Mach 0.9. Fortunately, range is not compromised as the aircraft can still reach 6,840 miles (equivalent to flying nonstop from Palm Springs to Tokyo, London, or Moscow). And there is even better news for corporate travelers as the engines produce very little in terms of engine noise (when heard from inside the cabin) and vibration.
The Falcon 7X’s 1,552-cubic-foot main cabin has a maximum passenger capacity of 19. Amenities include ergonomic seats, a full-size galley, a stand-up lavatory, and an advanced environmental and pressurization control system that maintains a cabin altitude of 4,800 feet even when the aircraft is at its normal cruising altitude of 45,000 feet. There is also a 140-cubic-foot baggage compartment.• Guaranteed point to point pricing for Members
